ARC REVIEW: Beauty of the Beast by Rachel L. Demeter

Reclusive and severely scarred Prince Adam Delacroix has remained hidden inside a secluded, decrepit castle ever since he witnessed his family’s brutal massacre. Cloaked in shadow, with only the lamentations of past ghosts for company, he has abandoned all hope, allowing the world to believe he died on that tragic eve twenty-five years ago.

Caught in a fierce snowstorm, beautiful and strong-willed Isabelle Rose seeks shelter at a castle—unaware that its beastly and disfigured master is much more than he appears to be. When he imprisons her gravely ill and blind father, she bravely offers herself in his place.

Stripped of his emotional defenses, Adam’s humanity reawakens as he encounters a kindred soul in Isabelle. Together they will wade through darkness and discover beauty and passion in the most unlikely of places. But when a monster from Isabelle’s former life threatens their new love, Demrov’s forgotten prince must emerge from his shadows and face the world once more…

Perfect for fans of Beauty and the Beast and The Phantom of the OperaBeauty of the Beast brings a familiar and well-loved fairy tale to life with a rich setting in the kingdom of Demrov and a captivating, Gothic voice.

Beauty of the Beast is the first standalone installment in a series of classic fairy tales reimagined with a dark and realistic twist.

Disclaimer: This is an edgy retelling of the classic fairy tale. Due to strong sexual content, profanity, and dark subject matter, including an instance of sexual assault committed by the villain, Beauty of the Beast is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Enticing, exciting and sinfully sexy. The perfect fairytale retelling set up in the historical era with the perfect amount of sweetness and all consuming darkness.

Holy shit shit shit!! This was simply amazing. Beauty of the beast is a perfect blend of happiness and sadness. I selected to read "Beauty of the beast" just because I loved the cover. I'm kind of fascinated with this cover. It's so beautiful. When I read the blurb, I knew that no matter what I've to read this book now and so I got my ARC. And I was right all along, I did love this book.It was so different and gave me something to think about. This is the story of a man with the heart of gold but the face of devil. This is the story of his survival, his hate for the judgemental people and his love for a beautiful girl. This is his story of transformation❣

The beginning of the story or we can say prologue was really heart breaking. It was described so well that it felt like a real experience. I felt like I was a part of the story. Beauty of the beast was a not very different from the original fairytale but it had some freshness to it.

In "Beauty of the Beast" we are introduced to Adam who is haunted by a shitload of demons and lives in complete and utter isolation. He was sort of caught up in a fire attack as a young boy so now he has a distorted body and face and lives in regret of not being able to save his family. Seriously guys!, his past is heartbreaking and reading it, is going to make you shed some big fat tears.

Enters Isabella rose. Her life is miserable. Her father is on the verge of death and to save her family from utter poverty she made a grave mistake by  accepting the proposal of a man called Raphael Dumont, who in every sense is a monster. To escape from the clutches of this ruthless and evil man she elopes with her father and somehow finds herself in Adam's castle when her father's health suddenly  deteriorate. she is instantly fascinated with the owner of the castle, a beastly man with commanding aura. She wants to break down his walls and is adamant to discover the real man behind all the facade.

Adam on the hand is instantly attracted to the  beautiful girl who appeared in his castle uninvited along with his sick father and is not frightened of his looks as much as others.

But one mistake and everything gets twisted and now Isabella hates Adam more than anything.

Where Adam is darkness, Isabella is the light. So what happens when these opposites fall in love? Will she ever be able to forgive Adam and will Adam be able to forget his past and move on?

All in all this was great read and I highly recommend this!!

Rachel L. Demeter has done a fantastic job. She has that unique way of storytelling that brings characters to life and you feel like you are a part of everything that's going on in the book. I am really glad that she didn't try to stretch the story needlessly. At last I just want to say that she is a damn fine writer and did an awesome job.

BOOK REVIEW: BOUND BY VENGEANCE(born in blood mafia chronicles #5 ) BY CORA REILLY

He’d never had something to himself, never even dared to dream about owning something so precious. He was the unwanted bastard son who’d always had to content himself with the leftovers of others. And now they’d given him what only a few weeks ago had been out of his reach, someone he wasn’t even allowed to admire from afar, one of their most prized possessions. Thrown at his feet because he was who he was because they were certain he would break her. He was her punishment, a fate worse than death, a way to deliver the ultimate punishment to her father who had displeased them so greatly.

She had always been the good girl. It didn’t protect her.
She didn’t know his real name. People called him Growl to his face and the Bastard behind his back. Both were names he couldn’t possibly have chosen for himself. His eyes were empty, a mirror to throw back her own fear at her. He was a brutal hand of the Las Vegas Camorra.
And now she was at his mercy.

Review: Every Time It Rains by Nikita Singh

Love is a dangerous thing. It brings with it great joy, and opens you up to pain. But does one really have the courage to say no and look the other way?

Laila is yet to recover from her painful past. Hurt, and untrusting of love, she is fully immersed in work, her only source of cheer. Her bakery franchise is very popular and she just might be able to go national, if she can pull off that big deal.

Just when things are looking up, along comes JD, an impetuous, free-spirited creature to stir up the calm. He's her exact opposite. Laila s self-destructive, he s life-affirming. She s cautious, he s buoyant. But here s the thing: he makes her feel the very things she wanted to forget. Stirring a familiar passion she longed for but had lost the courage to pursue.
They are irrepressibly drawn to each other but will she ever be able to trust him? Every Time It Rains is the story of every girl who has ever had her heart broken. And fallen in love again.
