COVER REVEAL! The Relic By Ashwin Karthik & Madhava Sharma

Happy Cover Reveal!!

***************

“Vijay stuck his ear on the door and pressed the eye of the cobra as if he pressed a button, he heard a latch unfasten itself. Immediately the two halves of the door started to slide in their respective sides. With a creaking noise, the legendary door slid open.”
The story of “The Relic” revolves around the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala – the treasure it holds and the mystery around it. The tale begins with the government trying to find out whether the money had been misappropriated.
Vijay, an Intelligence Bureau officer, is sent with orders to open the  secret vaults of the Shri Padmanabhaswamy temple. He finds ways to open the vault and is particularly fascinated by a pot he finds in a metal box, amid heaps of the golden ornaments and precious gems.
After completing the formal investigations, he sets out to find out for himself the secret behind the pot.
The Relic is a journey of the officer on his quest to unravel the mystery behind the pot and incorporated into the plot is the intrigue of the Aghoris in Banaras – some of them practice rituals that are gory and grisly.
It talks of ascetics and their divine yogic powers, through which they could teleport their souls into other people’s bodies. It also talks about astrology and also warns how people in the modern world are being misled by the fake astrologers.
The story is both a thriller and an insightful glimpse into the  protagonist’s mind, that incorporates Vijay’s personal life and his curious past.

Ashwin Karthik S.N:
Ashwin established himself as a true achiever from the very moment of his birth. He was born with a deficient supply of oxygen, which resulted in a crippling and life-long condition called cerebral palsy.
He is quadriplegic, with the severest form of cerebral palsy that affects all four limbs. But, as though to balance his misfortune, he is blessed with an indomitable spirit and the will to take up impossible challenges of leading and succeeding in a world full of people without disadvantages;
Qualified as the first engineering graduate in India as Computer Science, as specialization. Ashwin is presently working with ANZ, as a Business Analyst. Besides the precision and efficiency he shows in his work, he has also been a mascot of the company’s effort for inclusiveness.

Madhava Sharma:
It is said that god doesn’t give you troubles without giving you the strength to face them. It takes a lot of zeal and determination to convert one’s weaknesses to strength. Madhav is a living example of the above. The man descended slowly in blindness due to the medical condition called “Macular Degeneration”.
The medical condition was only potent enough to snatch away the man’s sight but not his vision or his love towards life or the dignity with which he chose to lead it. After successfully qualifying as a commerce graduate, Madhava has walked various paths of life in order to respectfully earn a livelihood.
He has worked in various organizations at various positions, he has successfully worked as an insurance agent and has a LIC agent profile for over two decades. He has also been a successful business man for some time.
Currently he holds the position of a senior officer in the admin department of a MNC called Mphasis.
Madhava is an inspiring personality, he believes in returning what he has received from the society and hence is serving at various social organizations and NGO’s that work towards the betterment of the specially abled.
His poetry in kannada not only entertains and inspires one and all. But also conveys a very strong and positive message to the society.

Review: Every Time It Rains by Nikita Singh

Love is a dangerous thing. It brings with it great joy, and opens you up to pain. But does one really have the courage to say no and look the other way?

Laila is yet to recover from her painful past. Hurt, and untrusting of love, she is fully immersed in work, her only source of cheer. Her bakery franchise is very popular and she just might be able to go national, if she can pull off that big deal.

Just when things are looking up, along comes JD, an impetuous, free-spirited creature to stir up the calm. He's her exact opposite. Laila s self-destructive, he s life-affirming. She s cautious, he s buoyant. But here s the thing: he makes her feel the very things she wanted to forget. Stirring a familiar passion she longed for but had lost the courage to pursue.
They are irrepressibly drawn to each other but will she ever be able to trust him? Every Time It Rains is the story of every girl who has ever had her heart broken. And fallen in love again.

BOOK REVIEW: BOUND BY VENGEANCE(born in blood mafia chronicles #5 ) BY CORA REILLY

Growl
He’d never had something to himself, never even dared to dream about owning something so precious. He was the unwanted bastard son who’d always had to content himself with the leftovers of others. And now they’d given him what only a few weeks ago had been out of his reach, someone he wasn’t even allowed to admire from afar, one of their most prized possessions. Thrown at his feet because he was who he was because they were certain he would break her. He was her punishment, a fate worse than death, a way to deliver the ultimate punishment to her father who had displeased them so greatly.

Cara
She had always been the good girl. It didn’t protect her.
She didn’t know his real name. People called him Growl to his face and the Bastard behind his back. Both were names he couldn’t possibly have chosen for himself. His eyes were empty, a mirror to throw back her own fear at her. He was a brutal hand of the Las Vegas Camorra.
And now she was at his mercy.

Five Things 'FIVE FEET APART' Taught Us

'Five Feet Apart' is an American Romantic Drama, inspired by a real-life couple Dalton and Katie Prager, who both suffered from cystic fibrosis.

As you all know that I'm not a movie person, I'd choose books anytime over movies but as I am going through 'Reader's Slump' so I decided to watch Netflix and guess what? I found this treasure.

This movie impacted me greatly so I decided to share all my takings with you all. Let's start!
1.Live Big because life don't give us enough chances.

2. Take risks, you never know which moment is your last.

3. Love! Don't be scared of it. Loving won't kill you but not doing it will surely kill a part of you.

4. Take chances! We can die today, we can die tomorrow but we can also make our life worth living.

5. Breathe! Take a deep breath and enjoy your today. We are all on borrowed time. Instead of focusing on making your tomorrow good, make your today even better.

Until next time...Bye!

SHAME (RUIN #3) BY RACHEL VAN DYKEN

Everything done in darkness will eventually be brought into the light. I ran, but all it did was keep me one step ahead of my past. I tried to start over; new name, new identity. But the truth? I was the beast. And as much as I wanted redemption, I wasn't fool enough to think I'd ever get it.
Until he walked into my life. I wasn't prepared to fall for someone. My scars were too deep, the wounds too raw. But he offered me peace, he offered me security. I should have known it was just another lie - I should have known that falling in love with my professor was a bad idea. But I was powerless to stop myself from f…
