Review: Damaged Locke by Victoria Ashley & Jenika Snow

Aston Locke
Whispers of the Locke brothers fill the town, facts and reality twisted to fit what these motherfuckers believe they know about us.

That we’re sadistic bastards, incapable of any real emotions or fear.

Maybe they’re not wrong about that.

That is, until I set my sights on Kadence King, getting just as drawn to her as I am the darkness. It’s the first time I’ve felt anything in a long time.

But would she really be scared knowing the depth, the lengths I go with my brothers to make any fucker who crosses us pay?

I need a woman who can accept me for who I am.

For what I am.

I’m hoping like hell it’s her, because I want nothing more than to claim her as mine…

Kadence King
I know Aston’s dangerous, know people fear him. But I want him. I’m drawn to him, just as he’s drawn to the darkness.

I should be afraid of him, should turn the other way, but I can’t. I’ve gone mad and let him in my room, in my life, allowing him to consume me.

He possesses me, dominates me. Aston Locke shows me what it means to want to be claimed by him and only him.

And when he tells me I’M HIS, I have no doubt that’s the truth.

Because in the end it’s what I want too.

No matter how dangerous he is…

Hotness alert!! Yes guys this one was damn hot with the dangers lurking around.

The story introduces us to Aston, one of the infamous Locke brothers. He is tall, dark and handsome and all ruthless.

"I’m Aston Locke, a mean motherfucker that you just let all up in your space.”

Everyone fears Locke brothers especially Aston Locke, he is all fucked up. If you want to be safe stay away from him.

"I crave the challenge like I crave the darkness."

Enters Kadence, soft, sweet and a complete opposite of Aston. But she has her own demons and Astons's presence makes her  feel safe. Where he is dark she is all light and she is exactly what he needs.

"I’m flirting with danger, playing with fire right in the palm of my hand."

Kadence is fascinated with the youngest Locke. She even gets more curious when he sees him doing one of his job but she has no idea of what lies ahead.

"Maybe I’ll feed her curiosity and give her a small taste of the youngest Locke.
I’m pretty sure this will be the last time she leaves her bedroom window unlocked and opened for me."

Their first meeting is oh my god....so intense, downright erotic even dark and full of secrets. He is infatuated with her and now he wants her. He needs her like he needs air to breathe.

"I need you, Kadence. I need us. Tell me you want the same.”

His darkness calls to her. She wants him like she has wanted no one else. She craves him and now she has him all of him.

"This is only the fucking beginning. You’re mine. Only mine.”

I loved the plot and characters... The writing style was amazing and full of emotions, I felt Everything. I felt the hate, the love, the dangers.

"I found my way here. So here I am. Here with you under the stars.”

The only thing I didn't like was that the story was rushed. It had a great plot but everything was rushed. I was expecting some action and adventure but that was also too quick. It came and went and I was like what the fuck did happen? So I would have liked it more if it was a bit extended and detailed with not that insta lust/love. But all in all it was a good quick read.

BOOK REVIEW: BOUND BY VENGEANCE(born in blood mafia chronicles #5 ) BY CORA REILLY

Growl
He’d never had something to himself, never even dared to dream about owning something so precious. He was the unwanted bastard son who’d always had to content himself with the leftovers of others. And now they’d given him what only a few weeks ago had been out of his reach, someone he wasn’t even allowed to admire from afar, one of their most prized possessions. Thrown at his feet because he was who he was because they were certain he would break her. He was her punishment, a fate worse than death, a way to deliver the ultimate punishment to her father who had displeased them so greatly.

Cara
She had always been the good girl. It didn’t protect her.
She didn’t know his real name. People called him Growl to his face and the Bastard behind his back. Both were names he couldn’t possibly have chosen for himself. His eyes were empty, a mirror to throw back her own fear at her. He was a brutal hand of the Las Vegas Camorra.
And now she was at his mercy.

REVIEW-- Ira Oberoi's Pursuit of Love by Niti Chopra

Sparkling and zesty with a dash of green, a Virgin Mojito is a unique blend up and Ira is one lucky girl to have found her Mojito – tall and handsome with green eyes, he is in every definition the intoxication for her. In a twist of tales, the traditional concept of the boy wooing the girl goes for a toss. Smitten at first sight, she boldly pursues her love interest, every bit candid and upfront about it.

But what is a concoction if not for a heady mix of elements? Her descriptive personal diary falls in the hands of her mother who, on the verge of a cardiac arrest, forbids her from getting into a relationship with the guy she has fallen for.  Will Ira stand up for the love that she has found?Or will she be the ideal daughter and keep the promise for her mother’s sake?

Will hers be a love story that finds it difficult to have a sweet ending or will it be the perfect fairytale to be remembered down the years?
Will Ira Oberoi’s Pursuit of Love be successful?

1. Devil In Winter (Wallflowers #3) By Lisa Kleypas
Some Quotes From Devil In Winter “Mysteries of attraction could not always be explained through logic. Sometimes the fractures in two separate souls became the very hinges that held them together.”  --------------
“If my love can hold you, I'll keep you with me.”
--------------
“Ah, Evie,” she heard him say softly, “I must have a heart, after all…because right now it aches like the devil.”
“Only your heart?” she asked ingenuously, making him laugh.
He lowered her to the bed, his eyes sparkling wickedly. “Also a few other things,” he conceded. “And as my wife, it’s your duty to ease all my aches.”

Plaza Requiem: Stories at the Edge of Ordinary Lives by Martha Batiz

Mexican-Canadian Martha Batiz has crafted, in her first collection written in English, visceral stories with piercing and evocative qualities. She has filled her recognizable, sisterly/motherly, and imaginative characters with qualities we all hold close to our hearts, but this is powerfully juxtaposed by the uncertainty that lurks at the edges of ordinary lives. Most often they are women, trapped in violent relationships, facing dangerous political situations, or learning to live with the pain of betrayal. Yet Batiz's stories shimmer with the emotional surge of vindication, evoking the rewards women attain after a powerful exploration of their darkest moments. As an emerging writer, Batiz crafts her stories with qualities reminiscent of Joyce Carol Oates, Shirley Jackson, and Cuban author Leonardo Padura: with precision, haunting vision, and the will to survive all odds.
