REVIEW: THE RAKEHELL'S SEDUCTION BY LAUREN SMITH

HE’S MADE A DANGEROUS WAGER
Ambrose Worthing is no gentleman. He’s a proud cold-hearted rake who’s determined to stay a bachelor forever. He enjoys bedding a different woman every night without the risk of falling in love. When he hears about a wager over the seduction and ruination of the daughter of his father’s best friend, he knows he must intervene. Committing himself to the bet, he agrees to seduce Lady Alexandra Rockford—for her own good. He never expected the lady in question to be a beautiful, fiery creature who has passions of her own that call to his guarded heart.

SHE’S VOWED NEVER TO FALL IN LOVE AGAIN
Alexandra Rockford has sworn off men, her heart still broken from the false promises of a childhood sweetheart who left her to marry an heiress. When she stumbles into Ambrose outside of a country ball, she knows the rake his trouble. His smile, his touch, his forbidden kiss are all too tempting but being with him would ruin her Determined to enjoy herself without falling in love, Alex can’t help but let her defenses down with the too charming rake. But when she discovers Ambrose is seducing her to win a bet, it will take everything Ambrose has to prove to her that he is worthy to love her.

I love the concepts of wagers and bets so this book was definitely for me. It was a quick amazing read. "The Rakehell's Seduction" is a perfect blend of humor, wit, and hotness. The author delivered a fresh story with a confident and feisty female lead and a charming notorious male lead.

Ambrose Worthing is a cold-hearted notorious rake who has sworn to stay a bachelor forever. He feels that one woman for a lifetime is not a good deal and knows that he can't stay loyal. He is charming rogue and women are always chasing him. So all in all he has everything yet there is something missing in his life.

Alexandra Rockford is a beautiful fierce girl with an intense passion. She has sworn off love after experiencing a heartbreak at the hands of her childhood sweetheart. She is determined to become a spinster rather than committing herself to a loveless marriage.

This is the story of a wager gone wonderfully wrong.

Ambrose has accepted the wager according to which he has to take lady Alexandra's virginity publicly *harsh*. In a hope to find Alexandra, he makes his appearance in one of those balls where everyone is supposed to find their soulmate, fall in love and get married. There she meets a feisty lady to whom he is insanely attracted. Later he comes to know that she is the same girl whose virginity he is supposed to take.

"I am destined to ruin her and break her heart in order to save her"

Alexandra (Alex)  and Ambrose are strongly attracted to each but Alex kind of hates him because of his hellish attitude and cheeky charm, yet, she can't resist him. Ambrose continues his efforts to seduce Alex but in vain. Alex's continuous attempts to trouble him is hilarious. Their regular banter is actually the soul of the story.

As the story picks up the pace, the develop a strong friendship. With Alex, Ambrose didn't feel empty anymore. He realized that her light was overtaking his darkness. Their relationship nurtured with time. But what's a novel without twist and turns? The secrets unfold and the truth is revealed.

What will happen when Alex will come to know about Ambrose's intentions? Will Ambrose be able to become the type of man that Alex deserves? Will Alex be able to forget her past and move on?

I really admired Ambrose's determination to win Alex's heart and make her fall in love with him. I loved how he tried to become a better man by correcting his mistakes.

"You came into my life like a shooting star. That night we met… it changed me. I wasn’t whole, not until I met you."

Readers, if you want a good quick read, just read this book, it's really good and worth the time.

BOOK REVIEW: BOUND BY VENGEANCE(born in blood mafia chronicles #5 ) BY CORA REILLY

Growl
He’d never had something to himself, never even dared to dream about owning something so precious. He was the unwanted bastard son who’d always had to content himself with the leftovers of others. And now they’d given him what only a few weeks ago had been out of his reach, someone he wasn’t even allowed to admire from afar, one of their most prized possessions. Thrown at his feet because he was who he was because they were certain he would break her. He was her punishment, a fate worse than death, a way to deliver the ultimate punishment to her father who had displeased them so greatly.

Cara
She had always been the good girl. It didn’t protect her.
She didn’t know his real name. People called him Growl to his face and the Bastard behind his back. Both were names he couldn’t possibly have chosen for himself. His eyes were empty, a mirror to throw back her own fear at her. He was a brutal hand of the Las Vegas Camorra.
And now she was at his mercy.

REVIEW-- Ira Oberoi's Pursuit of Love by Niti Chopra

Sparkling and zesty with a dash of green, a Virgin Mojito is a unique blend up and Ira is one lucky girl to have found her Mojito – tall and handsome with green eyes, he is in every definition the intoxication for her. In a twist of tales, the traditional concept of the boy wooing the girl goes for a toss. Smitten at first sight, she boldly pursues her love interest, every bit candid and upfront about it.

But what is a concoction if not for a heady mix of elements? Her descriptive personal diary falls in the hands of her mother who, on the verge of a cardiac arrest, forbids her from getting into a relationship with the guy she has fallen for.  Will Ira stand up for the love that she has found?Or will she be the ideal daughter and keep the promise for her mother’s sake?

Will hers be a love story that finds it difficult to have a sweet ending or will it be the perfect fairytale to be remembered down the years?
Will Ira Oberoi’s Pursuit of Love be successful?

1. Devil In Winter (Wallflowers #3) By Lisa Kleypas
Some Quotes From Devil In Winter “Mysteries of attraction could not always be explained through logic. Sometimes the fractures in two separate souls became the very hinges that held them together.”  --------------
“If my love can hold you, I'll keep you with me.”
--------------
“Ah, Evie,” she heard him say softly, “I must have a heart, after all…because right now it aches like the devil.”
“Only your heart?” she asked ingenuously, making him laugh.
He lowered her to the bed, his eyes sparkling wickedly. “Also a few other things,” he conceded. “And as my wife, it’s your duty to ease all my aches.”

Plaza Requiem: Stories at the Edge of Ordinary Lives by Martha Batiz

Mexican-Canadian Martha Batiz has crafted, in her first collection written in English, visceral stories with piercing and evocative qualities. She has filled her recognizable, sisterly/motherly, and imaginative characters with qualities we all hold close to our hearts, but this is powerfully juxtaposed by the uncertainty that lurks at the edges of ordinary lives. Most often they are women, trapped in violent relationships, facing dangerous political situations, or learning to live with the pain of betrayal. Yet Batiz's stories shimmer with the emotional surge of vindication, evoking the rewards women attain after a powerful exploration of their darkest moments. As an emerging writer, Batiz crafts her stories with qualities reminiscent of Joyce Carol Oates, Shirley Jackson, and Cuban author Leonardo Padura: with precision, haunting vision, and the will to survive all odds.
